SteelFlash Final
temporary x64 visual style

I release this temporary pack to permit the use of SteelFlash Final to the x64 users like me, until I will release the final x64 version.

I have to say that edit these glitchy images is very difficult for me, because I really don't know why they are present.
I have used Photoshop, Paint.net and GIMP2, but none have satisfied my request.
I never had help, because no one really knows much about this problem.
I will continue to try & try with these programs, waiting for some help from who knows something :S

BEFORE INSTALL:

If you don't know if you have the Service Pack or not, go to Start and right click on Computer, select Properties.
If Service Pack1 is listed under the Copyright of Windows Vista, you have the Service Pack1(SP1).

Patch your system with Vistaglazz of manual patch your system by following this guide: [link] (for advanced users)
If you want to use vistaglazz, download the right version:
-if you DO NOT HAVE the Service Pack 1: [link]
-if YOU HAVE the Service Pack1: [link]

Restart the computer

INSTALLATION
Copy the content of the archive to C:\Windows\Resource\Themes\
Open the folder SteelFlash Final and open the file SteelFlash Final.msstyles.
Apply it :)

ABOUT:
The wallpaper is from the fantastic Infinite Nature vol.2 [link] from Vathanx.

You can post a direct link to this page where you want, but you can't host the file because is property of the author.

Nvm... after reading the "help" in the skin editor (who would have thought??) I discovered that all I needed to do was delete the back.png within the lyrics file for the particular skin... thanks again for an incredible pack

I love the theme... and I have everything up and working fine on Vista Ulimate x64... my question is how do you get the lyrics to display directly on the desktop with CAD... I like the glass panel they pop up in, but I would prefer them directly on the desktop for a cleaner look

Love the visual style . On my taskbar when a new dialog pops up, the graphic for the flashing taskbar seems to be flashing in 8-bit. I'm using the VS Patchers. Do VS Patchers work in 64-bit?

I really like this style. Are you planning on bringing this visual style to completion for x64?

Thank you :)
The problem is that the remaining resources for the final are difficult to do, but on the same time I think that now is more clear.
But probably I will complete it with new resources for x64 & x86 :)

To change the start button, you have to use the files included on SteelFlash Final (not the temporary x64).
Open Extras\Vs Patchers\Start Buttons\ from the package and follow the readme :)

I'm using this all day and really love it. The glitches don't bother me. I did edit it to get rid of the Start button (because I hate Start buttons).

The only thing that bugs me is how the taskbar looks a bit strange when it's double-height and at the top of the screen. The shadow feels too strong. If you know what the shadow resource is, could you let me know? Sorry to personally modify your beautiful theme to hell ;)

No problem man!
You are free to edit the visual style for private use :D
Sorry, bI didn't edit the shadow... maybe is on the stream btw..
Thank you however for liking it.. and maybe you will be happy when I will post some new things for steelflash :)

This is an amazing start, many of the problems I previously had with the VS are now fixed. There is just a few odds and ends ive noticed which I can easily fix on my end (if I knew the resource number for 1 in particular - that being the roll over image for the favorites pane). Other than that its great.

If you need help converting things like the browseui let me know, I can easily do that sort of thing (and the WMP).

:)..Happy about the release... it did fix some of the issues but not all... thats only expected, given the complexity of vista gui... theres still a start menu search bar glitch..plus numerous small things like in explorer, the sort column has a drop down box thats still screwed up...

anyway a :+fav: for the effort...

certain themes seem to work with 32 and 64 bits.. maybe as u said they are using some native resources..but i can think of some that arent.. but not absolutely certain...

hope the "temporary" will become "final" soon !!

Yes, almost all visual styles use the original resources where the vs seems "buggy", but I will continue to develop on x64, so there will not be other difficulties, I suppose :)
Thank you btw :D

Previously there was some parts of the theme that was bugged on vista 64bit.
Now the situation is better, but some little parts, like the start search, still remain 'bugged'.
This thing don't happen on the 32bit.

Well, strangely a suspiciously similar theme called GiannisV works just fine under 64-bit, with none of these so called image problems. I did see what you were talking about with the Start Menu, etc. But to date, you are the only theme that has had this complication..
